Mama Rosemary Machogo is the founder of the centre and cares for 120 children between the ages of three and seven years old. Rosemary uses the Asset Mapping concept to give the children an advantage in terms of early education and development. Mama Rosemary is also involved in fieldwork on women’s development and gender sensitive crime prevention research.

Sustainable skills training:

Cooking & baking
Empowered members of the community and is marketing to surrounding schools.

Sewing
She manages a successful production line of various sewn items – most specifically her evening gowns have become a hit as members can hire the gowns for special occasions.

Food gardens
Homegrown produce enables them to feed the centre and they sell to hawkers – beetroot and spinach is a big seller.

Crocheting
Produces shoes and matching handbags. This project continues to bring about regular income.
