Mama Sipiwe Solomons of Shabalala in Hazyview a nurse and midwife, saw the overwhelming need for feeding and caring for the many vulnerable children in her area. She provides a feeding scheme for orphans, hospice, and home base care to 139 children aged between 8 and 14. She also provides for the unemployed adults, skills training such as gardening and sewing as well adult literacy. She started Hosanna Community Church and Projects in 2008 with the help and support of her husband Solly. Mama Sipiwe’s mission is to cultivate a HIV/Aids free community by providing a good quality health care service to the poor and needy of the grater Hazyview area.
