Young Mama Felicity Maluleke has taken over the legacy of Mama Linah who passed away in June 2009. Thanks to Mama Linah's care and guidance, Felicity who has been working at the centre for four years was able to gain an abundance of knowledge to care for the disabled children of the centre. Mama Felicity shares the passion and dedication of caring for those who cannot care for themselves. "I want to provide these children a safe and secure environment and will continue to find our own premises so that we can have a place we can call home." Says Mama Felicity.

At 23, she faces many challenges but has the determination to carry on the good work that Mama Linah started.

Sustainable skills training:

Cooking & baking
Empowered two dedicated caregivers that bake biscuits and scones and sell through the Vodacom Phone shop. Other members have also been empowered to assist with catering of various functions.

Food gardens
Homegrown fresh produce used for feeding the children in her care and sells to community members on a small scale.

Sewing
Has personally empowered members mostly children’s parents to sew. Items such as tracksuits for children and adults are made from off-cuts and sold at an affordable price.

Crocheting
Empowered over 20 members: Regular income comes from this project and has enabled the trained parents to pay the small school fees. Over 200 units produced and sold at an average of R120 each. The project has proven to be most feasible for Mama Linah.

Siyabonga Bread Oven
The mini bakery is complimenting her current baking project and is enabling her to generate more income.

With the profits made from Vodacom phone shop and crocheted items, Mama Linah was able to purchase additional therapeutic equipment for the children.
